Name the materials first
Solid wood, stone, tile, and glass tops change the weight and handling plan. Look underneath for detachable legs, pedestal fasteners, leaf locks, extension rails, and labels. Tell the provider about any cracks, loose joints, or prior repairs.
Count every related piece
List leaves, chairs, benches, stools, protective pads, and detached bases separately. A six-seat dining set is not one item when the load and carrying time are assessed.
Measure the table and route
Record length, width, height, and the thickest fixed section. Check door openings, corners, floor transitions, steps, gates, and the space around the truck. A detachable base helps only if it can be removed without damaging the table.
Prepare the room
Clear dishes, décor, rugs, and nearby chairs. Keep children and pets away from the work zone. Do not balance a glass top against a wall or attempt to carry stone or glass without suitable equipment and enough trained help.
Questions for the provider
Ask how fragile tops are handled, whether disassembly is part of the confirmed scope, how chairs are counted, and what access details could change the estimate. Share photos from above and underneath the table.
