Clear the bed before tools come out

Remove bedding, pillows, storage-bin contents, and personal items around the frame. Move lamps, rugs, and small furniture out of the work area so rails and slats can be handled without an obstacle course.

Identify the frame type

A basic metal frame, platform bed, storage bed, adjustable base, and wall-mounted headboard do not come apart the same way. Find the manufacturer’s instructions when possible and disclose motors, wiring, drawers, gas lifts, or wall fasteners before scheduling.

Photograph connections and label parts

Take clear photos before and during disassembly. Bag compatible bolts and fittings together and label the bag for the headboard, footboard, rails, or center supports. Do not mix hardware from several beds.

Protect the route

Measure the longest rigid parts against doors, stair turns, and elevator depth. Keep hardware, tools, and loose slats out of the walking path. Tell the provider if the room is upstairs or far from legal truck parking.

Leave uncertain work for assessment

Do not dismantle an adjustable base, lift mechanism, wall bed, or damaged frame by guesswork. Those pieces can hold tension, wiring, or manufacturer-specific hardware. Ask what the removal scope covers first.
